Don’t become a victim to remote Jamming!
Criminals in S.A are using radio transmitted gate remotes to interrupt the signal emitted from a car-key and the vehicle’s transponder. Car-jamming is on the rise in South Africa.
Tips:
- Park your vehicle in a secure parking
Do not leave valuables visible for opportunists. - Physically check that you have locked your vehicle.
- Don’t leave the vehicles registration papers in it.
- Never leave house keys or important papers in your vehicle.
How remote jamming occurs:
- Victim parks their vehicle in a parking bay.
Victim attempts to lock their vehicle with their remote. - Criminal blocks the remote signal with a jamming device.
- The victim leaves the vehicle, thinking it is locked.
- Criminal opens the door with ease and steals goods & possibly even the vehicle.
